Informal assessment of pupils indicates that the majority made limited progress during lockdown despite completion of work provided by school. Targets set for July 2021 are aspirational for pupils to make rapid progress and achieve at a standard broadly similar to no-covid years. Additional support in classrooms, with the use of robust intervention programmes is already in place and termly assessments will allow teachers and leaders to monitor the impact of interventions and adapt more formally through a detailed action plan.
